Soft Shell crab
After a decrease in prices last year prices of the soft shell crabs are increasing and are reaching other price levels again. Reason, strong demand from USA, higher freight cost, and slow production from one of the biggest producing countries.
As you know, we only source the best Soft Shell Crab available which is the Mud Crab (Scylla Serrata). We have exclusively worked with a top packer for the freshest high quality crabs for several years now. In addition, we have started a new collaboration with another packer to meet the high demand of our customers for this beautiful product. This packer offers the same high quality Scylla Serrata which they mainly sell to top customers in Japan and Singapore. These crabs are farmed in a natural and unpolluted environment where no antibiotics are used. Both our packers use natural molting as a farming process which gives the crabs a premium consistency of flesh and taste.
We currently only have limited stocks available (larger sizes), but we are expecting new arrivals from both our packers in the upcoming months of the following sizes: medium, hotel, prime and jumbo. Please ask our sales team for more information.
Smelt
The season of smelt started in May and is finished now. Stocks are available in bulk and 1 kg bags but it is also available as coated smelt upon request . These small fish are caught in lakes with a size of 4-7cm: ideal as a starter.
